Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Balancing Recovery and Real-Life Responsibility

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Oasis Treatment Centers offers structured therapeutic care while providing clients with the flexibility to begin reintegrating into their daily lives.

As a natural progression from Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), IOP is ideal for individuals who have built a solid foundation in early recovery and are ready to take on more personal responsibility with continued clinical support.

What is IOP?

IOP is a step-down level of care that allows individuals to live at home or in sober living while continuing to engage in comprehensive outpatient services. It supports the transition from highly structured treatment into independent living, helping clients maintain sobriety and accountability while pursuing personal growth, employment, and community involvement.

Benefits of Outpatient Treatment  Services

Find Balance and Support at Oasis Treatment Centers in Orange County
For many individuals navigating the path to recovery, outpatient treatment—especially through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)—offers the ideal combination of structured care and daily flexibility. At Oasis Treatment Centers in Orange County, our outpatient services are designed to support you in early recovery while allowing you to remain actively involved in your everyday life.

Whether you're managing a job, pursuing an education, or caring for loved ones, our IOP provides a safe, supportive environment to build essential coping skills, receive therapeutic care, and stay accountable without stepping away from your responsibilities.

Clients have the option to commute from home or reside in our gender-specific sober living homes, with transportation provided to and from our center. With a variety of therapeutic modalities and compassionate, individualized care, our outpatient program empowers clients to heal, grow, and thrive—right here in Orange County.

A Typical Day: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Clients in IOP attend group programming each weekday morning, which includes:

  • Recovery-focused group therapy
  • Educational sessions
  • Skill-building workshops
  • Holistic therapies

Whether commuting from home or residing in our gender-specific sober living homes, all clients attend core programming hours.

Transportation is provided to and from our center for sober living residents.

Afternoon Integration & Independence (12:00 PM – 3:30 PM)

After morning sessions, clients are encouraged to use the afternoon for:

  • Job searching or employment
  • Enrolling in school or classes
  • Attending 12-step meetings or recovery activities
  • Managing personal responsibilities and appointments

This structure is designed to foster independence while maintaining consistent therapeutic support during the recovery process.

Weekly Individualized Support

In addition to group therapy, IOP includes:

  • Weekly one-on-one therapy sessions with a licensed clinician
  • Weekly case management meetings to assist with goal setting, life skills, job placement, legal matters, and housing

Our team works closely with each client to support their individual needs, challenges, and
progress.

Flexible, Personalized Scheduling

As clients show progress in treatment and successfully reintegrate into daily life, the clinical team may adjust group attendance and hours to fit their evolving needs. This can include a transition to a 3-day-a-week group schedule, based on clinical recommendations and individual stability in recovery.

This personalized approach ensures that each client receives the right level of care at the right time, while encouraging independence and long-term success.

Advantages of Oasis IOP

Why Our Intensive Outpatient Program Works for You
Choosing the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Oasis Treatment Centers in Orange County means gaining access to high-quality care that’s flexible, empowering, and rooted in real-world application. Here are just a few key benefits of our IOP:

  • Consistent Support & Accountability

While you enjoy greater freedom than inpatient rehab, our IOP keeps you connected and engaged through regular group therapy, individual counseling, and ongoing check-ins.
This level of structure ensures you have the accountability and encouragement needed to stay on track in early sobriety.

  • Affordable, Flexible Treatment Options

IOP is often more cost-effective than residential care, as there are no overnight or housing costs. Plus, our flexible programming allows you to balance treatment with work, school, or family responsibilities, making it easier to maintain real-life commitments while prioritizing recovery.

  • Gradual Transition to Independence

Our IOP is designed to help you transition smoothly from a higher level of care or reenter life with structure and support. Step-by-step, you’ll build confidence and resilience, laying the foundation for long-term, sustainable recovery in the real world.

  • Real-Time Application of Coping Skills

One of the greatest strengths of outpatient treatment is the opportunity to apply what you learn immediately. With the guidance of our clinical team, you’ll be equipped to use relapse prevention strategies, life skills, and emotional coping tools in everyday situations—right as they happen.

  • A Comprehensive Approach

While outpatient-based, our intensive program leverages the same evidence-based therapies, behavioral interventions, and holistic services proven to foster whole-person healing.

We embrace a multidisciplinary perspective, incorporating:
    ● Individual and Group Therapy
    ● Behavioral Therapies (CBT, DBT, EMDR)
    ● Trauma-Informed Care
    ● Mindfulness and Meditation
    ● Dual Diagnosis Treatment
    ● Family Therapy Program
    ● Relapse Prevention Planning
    ● Aftercare and Alumni Support

Our low patient-to-staff ratio ensures you receive personalized care from masters-level therapists experienced in addiction and mental health treatment. We work closely with you to develop an individualized care plan that addresses your unique needs and goals.

  • Evening IOP

At Oasis Treatment Centers, we understand that seeking addiction treatment can be a challenge for those with demanding schedules. That’s why we offer an evening intensive outpatient program (IOP) to provide a lifeline for individuals who are unable to attend daytime treatment sessions due to work, school, or parenting responsibilities.

Our evening IOP runs from 5:30-8:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week, accommodating those whose commitments prevent them from participating in programs that operate solely during weekday mornings and afternoons.

Our evening IOP delivers the same comprehensive therapeutic curriculum as our daytime tracks, allowing you to receive intensive treatment after fulfilling your daily obligations. The program includes individual and group counseling. Through these various components, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the root causes of addiction, develop coping mechanisms, and establish a strong peer support system.
